The Indian community in Christchurch has been calling for help from Kiwi Indian community

The Indian community in Christchurch has been calling for help from the community to make arrangements for sending  HardeepSingh’s body back to his hometown in India. A sikh temple in Christchurch is requesting donations from the community. The details were shared by one of Singh’s friends on Facebook.( account no given at the bottom of the the news)

In  a shocking tragedy, the Indian guy. Mr Hardeep Singh  26 ,hails from Hariyana   has died  on 27th December at Christchurch Hospital, after being stabbed on Christmas day, who suffered critical stab wounds subsequently died of his injuries on Tuesday, two days late.Emergency services were called to a property in the suburb of Cashmere shortly before 3pm on Christmas Day and found Singh in a critical condition. He was transported to Christchurch hospital for surgery

  After the death of victim ,  prompting police to open a homicide investigation. The police has confirmed that the woman has admitted stabbing Singh, that led to his death.  According to friends circle of Hardeep Singh , it was  confirmed that the two were in a relationship but is not sure of  the actual cause that might have led to an argument and then stabbing.

A woman named as Franchesca Kororia Borell     has been arrested at a property in Chasmere Road in Christchurch  in connection with a stabbing on Christmas Day . She was arrested and  appeared in court on Monday charged with wounding with attempt to cause grievous bodily harm. But after the death of Mr Singh, the enquiry has been accordingly upgraded and police will now open a homicide investigation.  Mr Singh originally hails from Rania town of Haryana in India and came to New Zealand for studies two years back. He was currently on Job Search visa

A 22-year-old woman has been charged in the case that left Hardeep Singh suffering with critical stabbing wounds on Christmas Day afternoon, .

The woman, Franchesca Kororia Borell, appeared in Christchurch District Court this morning and was initially charged with wounding with an attempt to cause grievous bodily harm. But after the death of Singh, the enquiry has been accordingly upgraded and police will now open a homicide investigation.

Police is not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident. Detective Sweeney said the police had extended their sympathies to Singh’s family and friends, many of whom live in India.

His brother in India has been informed of the incident but the devastating news has yet been kept from his parents.
