An Indian taxi driver has been brutally attacked by a a group racial hooligans last saturday early morning at at a McDonalds restaurant in Hobart of Tasmania . He was lodged a complaint to the the Tasmanian police complaining that he was racially abused and attacked by a group of youngsters at a McDonalds restaurant in Hobart. After the incident , the bleeding victim was immediately admitted to Royal Hobart Hospital, where he was supported with emergency medical aid examined for any detailed injury.

After he was discharged from hospital, the taxi driver reported the incident to the police. The Tasmanian police said, we are investigating the incident, with initial examination of cctv footage of Mc Donald restaurant. He described the incident, that he reached at Mc Donald Restaurant in Argyle St to go to the toilet just after 4.30am on early morning of saturaday. While that time there was quarrel with these 4 member young group including a girl, with staff of Mc Donald restaurant.The youths were arguing with a worker inside the store, but soon turned their attention to me. Then they covered by not allowing me to go toilet. One guy is roaring like a black man from India, and pinned me to ground. One big boy in a black T shirt had been yelling racial slurs and before he lunged. The other guy punch me just below t my right eye. and then other also start punching me to then pushed to ground. Finally he ended in the emergency department of the Royal Hobart Hospital with bleeding wounds and a CAT scan and X-rays were carried out to see if he had suffered any internal injuries.

The driver, Li Max who originally hails from Kerala ,southern India has been living and working in Hobart for 8 years . he was extremely shocked after this incident. “The racial mood is definitely changing. It is continuous now. Many other drivers have been abused but not everyone reports it to the police.” Lee added

He had also lodged a racial harassment complained to Police few days ago . “Last week in Glenorchy I was waiting for a fare when a primary-school aged boy put water in his mouth and then came over to the car window and spit it out on me,” Li said. He said the increasing racial hostility could stem from “the Donald Trump effect’’.

“The racial mood is definitely changing. It is continuous now. Many other drivers have been abused but not everyone reports it to the police.”

Another taxi driver was assaulted by four men in a racial attack in Hobart in June last year.
